My Mum and Dad LOVE this little local business and cafe situated neatly on ‘Slack Hill’ as it’s affectionately known, just in between Matlock and Chesterfield, overlooking the rolling hills of the peak district and in the distance, purple hues of Beeley Moor.
The Cafe at Marsh Green, Kelstedge, Matlock
Called into this brilliant little cafe last weekend on my way over to Buxton. I’m so pleased I did. It’s only about 15 minutes from home, so I was very suprised I’d not been here before, with it being right up my street! But I’ll definitely be going back. Beautifully positioned looking out over the hills and in the distance, Beeley Moor, this cafe has so much to offer! There was everything from locally sourced, cooked breakfasts, homemade beef burgers made with the cattle reared at the farm and homemade cakes too. We opted for a few of the sharing platters from the deli section and they were simply stunning. Lovely quality olives and tomatoes and enough to feed two people tapas style easily! I fell in love with their crockery too…
As well as a Cafe, there is also a Farm Shop and delicatessen selling high quality, local meat, deli-delights and locally grown vegetables. It’s pretty much a veggie-lover heaven!
So next time you’re up in Derbyshire, make sure if you’re around the Chesterfield or Matlock area, you call into this fab farm shop and support the local businesses. I know where I’ll be going from now on for my locally grown fruit and veg!
