Sticky Goat with Coconut Rice
Goat is one of the most widely eaten meats in the world, but we don’t eat much of it in the UK. I noticed my local butcher had recently started stocking goats meat and thought I’d give it a go. I had a few people question why on earth I’d want to eat goat (why not, I thought?), and I can safely say I’ll be making this recipe time and time again. Sticky Goat with Coconut Rice is perfect for the slow cooker, which is how I cooked it. Whack it in, leave it all day and fry it off at the end with some rice. Minimal effort but maximum flavour, that’s my sort of dish!
Goat, in my experience, is cooked very similarly to lamb and has a similar taste. It’s quite strong in flavour and lends itself well to strong spices and can hold and carry these off well, so don’t be afraid of going a little bold when using this meat.
