Simple Lentils Recipe
This simple lentils recipe is cheap and easy to make. It’s great for students or anyone on a cash-strapped budget, and because the lentils are legumes and not grains, they’re low GI and contain nutrients such as; dietry fibre, iron, potassium and folate.
The trick to cooking lentils, a little like rice, is to add LESS water than you need, and keep adding water as you go along. You don’t want to add too much, then have to drain it at the end because it gets rid of all the flavour and drains away any excess spices too. Cook in a wok or deep saucepan, and experiment with many different herbs and spices for different flavours!
