  1. Set your oven to 180oC or gas mark 7.
  2. Place your sausages on a baking tray and bake for around 20 minutes or until brown on the outside.
  3. Butter your pumpernickel bread generously. Cut your sausages in half and serve on the bread as a sandwich.
Recipe Notes

Pumpernickel bread is a lot lower on the GI scale because of the way it is made, and the type of flours used. Sourdough or pumpernickel should always be your alternative to white, stodgy bread where you have the chance. It’s rich in fibre and great tasting too!
