Easy Braised Red Cabbage
An easy way to jazz up a simple roast, add some Easy Braised Red Cabbage to your plate. Spicy, vinegary, just plain scrumptious.
Red cabbage is a brilliant autumnal/winter veg. High in vitamin C to help fight the dreaded cold season, with great doses of vitamin A (great for your eyes, especially in winter) and B6 too! Surely you don’t need more of an excuse to work in some red cabbage into your diet? No… thought not!
This really easy recipe will take you no longer than 10 minutes to prepare and the rest of the work is done by the hob.
In this recipe, I actually substituted brown sugar for brown coconut sugar. Yes it’s still sugar and will affect your blood sugar in the same way, however you can’t really make a great braised red cabbage without sugar AND coconut sugar is high in calcium, so it does have some good extra properties!
